Last week we received a Call from Morgan asking if there was a way she could get involved with IMFK? We shared with her that our friends love special treats and that if she wanted we could accept some baked goods to deliver to our them. Morgan was on board and delivered these wonderful packaged Cup Cakes made with Love! WE love it when our Sous Chefs go the extra mile for our friends. To be able to hand deliver these packages of Love is Priceless. On behalf of all our friends Morgan we say thank you !

Today we were able to create an awesome Menu item that allowed us to engage a New Homeless friend. Today’s Burrito was stuffed with two cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, Red Beans with Sauteed Onions loaded with a Marinated Pork Loin, oh man was it GOOD! When we seen our friend under the tree he was watching us wondering what we were doing. When we approached him and introduced ourselves and asked if he was hungry he said YES! I told him what the lunch was and he was excited to receive the Blessing. Our friend is battling an addiction to heroine and is bouncing around town from place to place. Today was first contact and we are believing that better days are ahead. It all Starts with a kind word , a soft touch and a awesome Lunch. We Told Carlos he was not invisible and that we would see him again. Sous Chefs together with your support we are truly Building Hope and Changing Lives

What a Great Day today cleaning up our Community with Our Hire Ground Crew! Today we picked up over 700 Gallons of trash through out Central NY. Kevin and Carolyn do such a great Job leading our Crews not just in picking up Trash but in Building Relationships with our friends. The program that is in Partnership with Onondaga County is all about giving our friends a Hand Up not a Hand Out, and alternative to pan-handling. Through out the day our crews are encouraged, fed and engaged in deep discussions in how we can assist them in making positive changes in their lives. We ask lots of Questions but the real key to success is being a Great Listener. We ask our friends what they would like for us to do to assist them? You should see their reactions when you show concern for their wants and just not assumptions in what we think they need. During this restart through Covid-19 our crews have been purged down to 6 participants but you sure cant tell by the amount of liter they are picking up. Our friends want to work and we are so blessed to be able to give them a little dignity by the sweat of their brows and the work of their hands! With your continued support we are truly Building Hope and Changing Lives, thank you

What a great day today receiving these handbags made with Love and filled with so many goodies. Lauren Reached out to us with an idea of filling unwanted handbags with items that our women friends outside might need. We gave her a list of items and she was off to the races. Today we received our first round of 10 handbags that will go out to the streets. While doing street outreach today we were able to bless a young woman with one of these handbags. You should have seen her FACE! Here is a post from Lauren
“Today I made my first donation to In My Fathers Kitchen Fundraiser !! I donated 10 purses full of essentials along with an extra box full of hundreds of feminine hygiene products, antibacterial wipes, toothbrushes, and tissues. John Tumino does direct outreach on the streets of Syracuse, so these handbags will be fulfilling their higher purpose amongst women who are currently living outdoors”.
Sous Chefs this is what its all about Building Hope and Changing Lives
Today’s Street Menu of Peruvian Chicken sided with Mac-N-Cheese allowed us to assist 16 friends out in our community. We were able to assist a friend who had a serious infection going on that could have turned into something life threatening. He was refusing help but today’s lunch was able to convince him to sit in our Outreach Van enjoy his lunch in privacy while Dr. Lehmann treated him. A lunch is a powerful tool in our hands not just in filling someones belly but a lunch is a way to show someone who is broken that we care. Our friend was able to receive antibiotics with instruction today with a follow up coming on Thursday to see how things are going. A lunch, medical care, kind word and unconditional love always wins out on the streets. With support from YOU our Sous Chefs days like this would not be possible. Together we are Building Hope and Changing Lives.
