What a Great Day today cleaning up our Community with Our Hire Ground Crew! Today we picked up over 700 Gallons of trash through out Central NY. Kevin and Carolyn do such a great Job leading our Crews not just in picking up Trash but in Building Relationships with our friends. The program that is in Partnership with Onondaga County is all about giving our friends a Hand Up not a Hand Out, and alternative to pan-handling. Through out the day our crews are encouraged, fed and engaged in deep discussions in how we can assist them in making positive changes in their lives. We ask lots of Questions but the real key to success is being a Great Listener. We ask our friends what they would like for us to do to assist them? You should see their reactions when you show concern for their wants and just not assumptions in what we think they need. During this restart through Covid-19 our crews have been purged down to 6 participants but you sure cant tell by the amount of liter they are picking up. Our friends want to work and we are so blessed to be able to give them a little dignity by the sweat of their brows and the work of their hands!
